I was the first person to start working for Simply back in February 2005. The world of Simply was a far different proposition back then.

At the time it was just Ian Partington (MD and owner) and I. We had an office with no windows that just about fitted 2 desks. At the time we only had 2 job boards to sell Simply Sales Jobs and Simply Marketing Jobs.

Fast forward 4 and a half years and we now own and operate 18 niche job boards ranging from HR to Aviation.

Along side the job board business we also sell Fancy a Pint, Wightbay, Bird Trader and several different pet sites from our Preston office.

We are now based in a newly built environmentally friendly barn based on a farm on the outskirts of Preston. This is the 5th office I have worked in since I have started - this time around we have found an office we can grow into over the next 5 years.

We are now owned by a classified ads company called Friday-Ad based in West Sussex, Ian is still the MD of Simply and I was promoted to sales manager in 2006.

We now have 21 of us working from the Preston office and another 4 from our head office.

I have learned a lot since 2005 regarding the ever changing world of online recruitment. I am starting to get involved in our classified ads businesses such as wightbay, all of this will prove invaluable to further my career.

We have managed to achieve a successful sales and marketing company without it being a call centre environment. The sales team is highly motivated and due to the company being relatively small we are a close nit team. This makes for some great staff nights out and general good banter which is much needed when you are based in an office together for 8 hours a day.
